Choosing the right unit
Capacity, refrigerant type and location (indoors, outdoors, rooftop) are chosen according to your needs and the site’s constraints. We advise you during a technical visit.
The main types of condensing units
- Monoblock unit: the whole refrigeration circuit is in one appliance, mounted on the wall or ceiling of the cold room.
- Remote unit: the evaporator is inside the room and the condensing unit sits outdoors or in a plant room.
- Refrigeration pack: one system supplying several cold rooms or cabinets.
Signs of a tired unit
- It runs almost continuously.
- The temperature is hard to reach.
- It gets noisier or cuts out.
- Refrigerant leaks keep coming back.
- It runs on a refrigerant whose use is restricted by the regulations.

Frequently asked questions
When should a condensing unit be replaced?
When breakdowns become frequent, energy use rises sharply or the refrigerant it uses is no longer permitted, replacement often makes more sense than repair.
What are the signs of a refrigeration unit at the end of its life?
Repeated breakdowns, a noisy compressor, difficulty holding temperature, rising energy use or a refrigerant that can no longer be topped up: all reasons to consider replacement.
Repair or replace?
We compare the cost of repair with that of a new unit, which is more efficient and compatible with permitted refrigerants. You decide based on a clear estimate.
Monobloc or remote unit?
A monobloc is compact and quick to install. A remote unit, placed outdoors or in a plant room, keeps heat and noise away from the work area.
