Be Cool Solutions installs, maintains and repairs heat pumps in Brussels, Walloon Brabant and Flemish Brabant. As a RESCert-certified installer, we support you from the survey of your home to commissioning, and throughout the life of the installation.

How does your heat pump project work?

  1. Your request: type of home, current heating, radiators or underfloor heating, hot water needs.

  2. The survey: we assess the home’s heating needs, its insulation, the existing heat emitters and the location of the outdoor unit.

  3. The quote: air-to-air, air-to-water or heat pump water heater, with the chosen capacity and planned work, free and with no obligation.

  4. The installation: fitting the outdoor unit and indoor components, refrigerant, hydraulic and electrical connections.

  5. Commissioning: checks, control settings adapted to your home and an explanation of how to use the system.

  6. Follow-up: maintenance and repairs throughout the life of the installation.

What makes a heat pump efficient

  • Sizing: an oversized heat pump runs in short cycles, an undersized one struggles in very cold weather.
  • Home insulation: the lower the heat losses, the better the heat pump performs.
  • Heat emitters: underfloor heating and low-temperature radiators are particularly well suited to an air-to-water heat pump.
  • Heating water temperature: the lower it is, the better the efficiency.
  • Outdoor unit location: good airflow, drainage of defrost water and noise for the neighbours.
  • Controls: settings adapted to your home and your daily routine.

Why choose a heat pump?

A heat pump delivers more heating energy than it uses in electricity, because it draws most of the heat from the outdoor air. It helps you cut energy use, move away from fossil fuels and, with reversible models, keep cool in summer.

A RESCert-certified installer

RESCert certification confirms the installer’s competence for renewable energy systems such as heat pumps. As refrigeration engineers by trade, we also master the refrigerant circuit at the heart of every heat pump: connections, leak-tightness and commissioning are carried out by the book.

Frequently asked questions

How does a heat pump work?

It takes heat from the outdoor air, even in winter, and moves it indoors through a refrigerant circuit. It uses electricity to move heat rather than to produce it, which makes it more efficient than conventional electric heating.

What is the difference between an air-to-air and an air-to-water heat pump?

An air-to-air heat pump heats (and cools) the air in the rooms through indoor units. An air-to-water heat pump heats the water in the central heating circuit (radiators, underfloor heating) and can produce domestic hot water.

Does a heat pump work in a Belgian winter?

Yes. Today's heat pumps are designed to heat in cold weather. Efficiency drops as the outdoor temperature falls, which is why correct sizing of the installation is essential.

Is my home suitable for a heat pump?

It mainly depends on the insulation, the existing heat emitters and the space available for the outdoor unit. We assess these points during the survey before proposing a solution.

Are there grants for a heat pump?

Regional grants may be available depending on your region, your situation and the type of installation. Conditions change regularly: we tell you where to find out more when we quote.
