How often?

One service a year is recommended, ideally before the heating season. Depending on the refrigerant charge, the regulations also require periodic leak checks.

Between services

  • Keep the outdoor unit clear of leaves, snow or plants.
  • Clean the indoor unit filters regularly (air-to-air).
  • Keep an eye on the heating circuit pressure gauge (air-to-water).
  • Tell us about any error code, unusual noise or loss of comfort.

Frequently asked questions

How often should a heat pump be serviced?

We recommend a service at least once a year. A check before the heating season means you start winter with an inspected system.

Is heat pump maintenance mandatory?

Depending on the amount of refrigerant, regulations may require periodic leak testing. Manufacturers also often require regular servicing to keep the warranty valid. We tell you what applies to your installation.

What does a heat pump service include?

Cleaning of the outdoor unit and filters, checking pressures and the leak-tightness of the refrigerant circuit, inspection of electrical connections, checking condensate drainage and settings, and a functional test.

What can I do myself between services?

Keep the outdoor unit clear (leaves, snow, plants), clean the filters of the indoor units of an air-to-air heat pump and keep an eye on the heating circuit pressure of an air-to-water heat pump.
