What makes up a cold room
- Insulated panels, whose thickness depends on the target temperature.
- The door, hinged or sliding, with its seals.
- The evaporator, which spreads the cold inside.
- The condensing unit, on the room or remote.
- The controller, which displays the temperature and manages defrosting.
- Interior lighting.
Using your cold room well
- Let air circulate around the evaporator and the products.
- Limit how long and how often the door is open.
- Avoid putting in food that is still hot.
- Regularly check the displayed temperature and the condition of the door seals.

What is the difference between a chilled and a frozen cold room?
A chilled cold room stores at roughly 0 to +8 °C (fresh produce), while a freezer room goes below 0 °C, typically around -18 °C (frozen goods).
Can a cold room be installed in a small space?
Yes, modular cold rooms adapt to many layouts. We assess your space during the visit.
How long does it take to build a cold room?
Fitting the panels and refrigeration unit usually takes a few days, depending on the size and access to the room. The exact schedule is agreed with you in the quote.
Where does the refrigeration unit go?
It can be mounted on the cold room (monobloc unit) or placed outdoors or in a plant room (remote split unit), which reduces heat and noise in the kitchen or storeroom.
Does a cold room need temperature monitoring?
For food, hygiene rules (HACCP) require temperatures to be monitored and recorded. We can install a recording thermometer or a temperature alarm.
